Information sharing is an essential component of effective strategic and tactical operations.  This is especially true for national security.  A March 2006 Government Accountability Office report recognized that the lack of information sharing across the federal government was the “single greatest failure” in the lead up to the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.  The ability to work together, efficiently and securely, regardless of location, can mean the difference between success and failure.

Secure information sharing is more than just IT deployment.  Synteras is currently involved in policy analysis at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).  Our project fosters information sharing internally within DHS, horizontally within the U.S. government, vertically across state, local territorial and private sector partners, and horizontally with the law enforcement and intelligence agencies of foreign allies.
